Case Study - Datashare Project.

The datashare project is a European funded information sharing initiative being developed in partnership between ourselves and the City of Edinburgh Council. The aim of the project is to provide a singular point of contact to access the wealth of data available to local and central government or through commercial sources.

The project focuses on a web based Geographic Information System allowing the users to identify the information they require in an intuitive and efficient manner. By selecting a geographic location from the map the user can request a report which extracts the relevant information for the area that was selected from an underlying database.

Additionally, there is a web based forum to allow the users to discuss the use of the site and to aid the management of the project across international boundaries.
