Yahoo and Google are keen competitors and where one leads the other often follows. Yahoo Maps was originally based on Flash vector graphics but now they have both Flash and standard HTML versions (as do Google).

With the mapping service you can embed the maps within your own page design. You can create custom tools for using the map. You can add points to the map to represent anything that has a geographic location. You can also add regions to the map such as national park boundaries, sales areas, authority boundaries.

To move around the map you can use the controls to the left or click and drag with your mouse to move the map. You can also use the cursor keys and +/- to zoom in for more detail. You can optionally change the backdrop maps using the buttons to the top right.
